January saw MTSG head to Sakana for our ‘Beat the January Blues’ Social. Sakana’s delightful pan-Asian delicacies, outstanding cocktails and other drinking delights helped to lift the spirits during the usual post-Christmas lull and give us a flavour of the wonderful offering from this incredible restaurant and bar.
During our ‘Breakout’ event, which took place on 27 January, MTSG members were, whether they liked it or not, locked in a room with friends and work colleagues for an hour and had to solve a series of puzzles and mysteries to escape. Having to search high and low for clues and work together to escape proved a particularly perplexing challenge in the 60 minutes allotted.
Skin health Spa
On 20 January out members treated themselves to a bit of a pampering at our Skin Health Spa charity event. Attendees were provided with 5 treatment demonstrations, huge offers on products and individual demonstrations not forgetting the bubbly and nibbles. The event helped to raise money for MTSG’s nominated charities, Forever Manchester and British Heart Foundation, ensuring attendees felt just as good on the inside as they did on the outside and, in addition, attendees were also provided with a goody-bag containing various product samples and exclusive offer vouchers.
The event on the horizon is perhaps the biggest annual item in the diary of young professionals in Manchester; the Inter-Professional Social. With around 700 attendees from Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group, Manchester Young Solicitors Group, Manchester Chartered Accountants Students’ Society (MCASS), Manchester Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRiCS), North West Town Planners Institute, and Manchester Young Professional Network, this really isn’t one to be missed.
The event will be taking place at Revolution De Cuba in Manchester city centre on Thursday 18th February 2016 with c700 attendees and provides an opportunity for MTSG members to meet and forge links with other professionals.
February will also see the start of our series of NQ talks. These events, hosted by MTSG’s largest supporters will provide trainees with an opportunity to gain insight from those in the know about the jobs market as they approach qualification. However, the talks are not just open to second-year trainees, we would suggest that even those in the first years of their training contract attend to help to ensure they are aware of the various and exciting opportunities in the most buoyant NQ market for years. Details, as always, will follow via the MTSG mailing lists.
