Yet another round-up of recent MTSG activities along with what we’ve got planned to take us into the New Year.
As usual, we have had a packed month of educational MTSG activities. On 2nd December our members attended a speed networking event at the University of Law designed to create links between students and those within the profession. On 10th December Deans Court Chambers hosted our extremely popular Advocacy Training event followed (as one would expect) by drinks, nibbles and a healthy dose of networking.
Social and FELT
Following on from the incredible success of our ball and sell-out FELT wine-tasting event organised by Adam Hattersley, our huge January social will be taking place at the wonderful Sakana on Peter Street. Keep your eyes peeled for announcements on Twitter and via your inboxes.
There was an enthusiastic response to the raffle ticket sale at the MTSG Winter Ball, with a grand total of £480 being raised for this year’s nominated charities, Forever Manchester and the British Heart Foundation. The lucky winners walked away with prizes including Stereophonics’ tickets, theatre tickets and even vouchers for a wine tasting course. We are arranging a number of further fundraising events for the new year including a charity spa evening in January, and hope to maintain this momentum and raise as much money as we can for these great causes.
The Trainee Games
Sports Secretaries Shalina Bhatia and Kris Scales have made great progress towards our headline sporting event of the year, the Northern Trainee Games, which we are pleased to announce will be held in Manchester at Manchester City FC’s Etihad Campus. Trainee Solicitor Groups from Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and Sheffield Junior Lawyer Divisions will be descending upon Manchester in the Spring each determined to take the crown as the supreme TSG for sport.
