Inter-Professional Event

The Inter-Professional Social held on Thursday 16 February 2017 at Revolución De Cuba was

one of the biggest events in the social calendars of young professionals in Manchester with

over 700 attendees from the various young professional committees throughout Manchester,

providing our members with the opportunity to network with other professionals. Attendees

were greeted with a welcome drink, provided with drinks tokens to keep them going throughout

the evening, with plenty of paella plated up and live music to entertain everyone. We would

like to say a massive thank you to the sponsors of the event, Interlink Recruitment and

Axon Moore.

FELT

Last month hosted a fantastic night in the MTSG FELT Calendar – a cocktail making master

class at The Liquor Store (located on First Street), sponsored by Anakin Seal! FELT-ers

spent the evening learning about the history of the cocktail and the art of mixology, whilst

enjoying their self-made masterpieces! This was then followed by an evening of networking

and some fantastic food to accompany. With some old classics on the menu and a few new

cocktails with a twist, this evening was one for the memory books!

March will see the FELT-ers trip to Bongo Bingo at The Albert Hall to enjoy an unforgettable

night! More information on this amazing night, sponsored by Think Legal, is to follow soon!

St. Patrick’s Day Social

It’s the one we’ve all been waiting for (I haven’t had any influence on this event coming

into the MTSG social calendar whatsoever)….The MTSG St. Patrick’s Day Social, kindly

sponsored by SJC Legal will be held on Thursday 16 March 2017 in Waxy O’Connor’s (located

in The Printworks). Everyone attending will receive drinks tokens upon arrival, food will

be provided and a live Irish band will be entertaining our members on the evening (we hope

everyone has been practicing their finest Irish dancing). We hope to see plenty of our

members on the evening itself for what is certain to be a great night’s craic!

MTSG Summer Ball

On Friday 23 June 2017, the MTSG will be throwing their annual summer ball at the Imperial

War Museum, Salford Quays. Mark the date in your diary now as following on from the amazing

Winter Wonderland Ball, this year’s Ball Directors Aisling, Charlotte and Nikki have put

together an exceptional themed night for you! Working with this year’s sponsor, Realm

Recruit, they are finalising the details and a full announcement will be made next month

with information on how to secure your place at what is set to be a fantastic evening!

MTSG Goes Walking

On the weekend of July 7-9 2017, MTSG will be forming a formidable alliance with JCI to

take on the daunting 3 peaks challenge. The famous challenge of scaling Ben Nevis, Scafell

Pike and Snowden all within 24 hours, will be tackled by two teams of 15 members from MTSG

and a team from JCI who leave Manchester on Friday 7 July with rucksacks filled with sugary

snacks, plenty of plasters and steely determination before returning on the evening of

Sunday 9 July. MTSG are delighted to announce that their pursuit is in the aid of raising

funds for their nominated charities for the year 2016/17, Forever Manchester and Save the

Children. Each team member will be set a fund-raising target of £100 with all of the proceeds

to be split between the charities.

For more information on the challenge, please contact Sports Directors, Catherine Anderson

(catherine.anderson@jmw.co.uk) or Neil Munford (neil.munford@bermans.co.uk). If you would

like to hear more about the fund-raising efforts of MTSG and how you can get involved,

please contact our Charities Director, Heena Kapadi (Heena.Kapadi@slaterheelis.co.uk).

NQ Talks

March will see the second in our series of NQ talks, which will be held on Thursday 9 March

with Realm Recruit. These events, hosted by MTSG’s largest supporters will provide trainees

with an opportunity to gain an insight from those in the know about the job market as they

approach qualification. Details, as always, will follow via the MTSG mailing lists.
