2017-18 Chair's Messenger Article Jan '18

Firstly, I would like to start by saying a very big ‘Happy New Year’ to all our members. Read on to see how the MTSG plans to start 2018 off with a bang!

The MTSG FELT Christmas event at Lunya was a huge success. We tasted a variety of wine, rosé and red wines from a range of locations across Spain, which were paired with yummy tapas dishes throughout the evening.  The event was a great networking opportunity, and everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you to BCL Legal for sponsoring the event.

Up next on the FELT calendar is an evening at Whistle Punks Urban Axe Throwing in February – keep your eyes peeled for details of the event, which will be circulated amongst FELT members in due course.

A date for your diary – the next MTSG social event is to be held on Thursday 25th January 2018 at Roxy Ballroom on Deansgate, and will kindly be sponsored by BCL Legal. Come join us for food, drink and some games to help bat away those ‘January Blues’ and bounce on in to 2018! Details of how to get a ticket for the evening will be circulated amongst our members in the next few weeks.

The raffle at our annual MTSG Winter Ball money was raised for our three charities of the year, Forever Manchester, The Prince’s Trust and JDRF. At the time the December edition of the Messenger went to print, we were not aware of the total raised, but I am very pleased to announce that this has been confirmed as a fantastic amount of £556.15. A massive thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket on the evening, and also to everyone who donated a prize towards the raffle.

December also saw the return of the MTSG ‘Pamper Evening’ at Kiehl's Boutique. The event was a huge success and there were over 50 attendees on the evening. MTSG members were treated to prosecco and canapes from Grand Pacific, complimentary manicures, hair styling and make-up tips from Blow Ltd, a showcase of Stella & Dot’s jewellery, hand and arm massages and healthy skin checks from Kiehls, and we were also able to take advantage of some offers on in-store products – which was perfect in the run up to Christmas! A raffle on the evening also saw some lucky winners going home with prizes including a Keihls hamper gift set and Stella and Dot jewellery. The evening raised £233.10 in total – a special thank you to our Charity Directors Heena Kapadi and Karlis Rullis for all their hard work in organising the event.
